“Over the past year, I have started training at Thrive with Deveren Johnson. A year ago, I found my self relectant to go back to the gym after gaining significant amount of weight due to a high stress job with long hours. I was encouraged by a coworker to try Thrive. “I started training with Kevin three months after I delivered my first child; I had lost weight but needed to lose another ten pounds to get back to where I was pre baby. Five months of training with Kevin and I have dropped 15 lbs (exceeding my original goal!) and am in the best shape I have been in since high-school. I started training with Deveren to get up for a Tough Mudder. My training was focused and intense. Without Dev and his commitment I know it would have been an Impossible Mudder. I went to Thrive because I needed to but I’ve stayed because I WANT to. That’s the difference Thrive can make.
I have been working out at Thrive since 4 months after my third baby. I needed to get my muscles back and return my body to it’s former shape. I have not only gained my muscles back and returned to my goal weight but far exceeded what I thought possible. I have worked out here with LLoyd since 2013 and there isn’t a time that my workout hasn’t been hard. I love coming knowing I’m getting a great workout every time. Everybody knows your name and greets you with a smile. They are a constant source of inspiration and guidance even on your worst days. This is an excellent Boutique fitness studio. Lloyd and his team are all very friendly making it easy for me to start my day here twice a week. It’s conveniently located for those who live or work near Buckhead, Brookhaven, Dunwoody, or Peachtree Corners.
The gym is two small suites that were recently remodeled into one large space. There are treadmills, bikes, rowers and an excelllent selection of machines and free weights to target key areas of both the male and female physique. It’s smaller size and neighborhood feel makes me feel much better and more comfortable than a big box gym like LA Fitness.
I’ve also noticed results in a much shorter amount of time along with a genuinely higher level of knowledge concerning both diet and exercise from my trainer Kristen. She’s available beyond our session and responds quickly to texts, calls and concerns. She always structures my workouts to target what I’m focusing on be it shaping, fat burning, endurance, or just crushing it after time off.
She motivates me to do more than I ever thought I could. Showing up twice a week isn’t always easy but I’m always thankful I did after a workout. The quick progress I see along with the encouragement I get from her and the team helps me stay consistent even outside the gym. My next beach trip is in 60 days and I’m already ready to go with new goals, new challenges, and new ambitions.
